LfA Förderbank Bayern is the specialist promotional bank of the Free State of Bavaria. Its mandate is to use the instruments of a bank to provide financial support for the projects of commercial companies and professions in almost all branches of industry and for other measures designed to improve Bavaria's economic, transport, energy and environmental structure.

LfA's financial services, which are always offered in cooperation with a house bank, include low-interest development loans, risk assumption and equity capital via holding companies from the LfA Group (BayBG and Bayern Kapital).

Bayern Kapital GmbH, based in Landshut, is the venture/growth capital company of the Free State of Bavaria. It accompanies innovative high-tech companies in the Free State through various growth phases, from seed to later stage, with equity capital in the amount of 0.25 to 25 million euros. Bayern Kapital often fills gaps in the VC sector in proven consortium constellations with private investors (business angels, family offices and corporate ventures). Bayern Kapital manages specialised investment funds with a volume of around EUR 700 million. Since its foundation in 1995 on the initiative of the state government, the wholly owned subsidiary of LfA Förderbank Bayern has so far invested some 400 million euros of its own equity capital in around 300 start-ups and scale-ups in sectors such as life sciences, software & IT, materials & new materials, nanotechnology and environmental technology. NürnbergMesse is one of the 15 largest exhibition companies in the world. Its portfolio comprises some 120 national and international trade fairs and congresses as well as around 40 sponsored joint company stands at the Nuremberg location and worldwide. High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) is Europe's most active seed investor. The fund invests venture capital in courageous people with innovative technologies from the fields of industrial tech, digital tech, life sciences and chemistry, which are a maximum of 3 years old and have their headquarters or a permanent establishment in Germany. Investors are BMWK, KfW Capital and 45 commercial enterprises.

As a strong partner, with a team of experienced investment managers and a large international network that has grown over the years, the fund finances the first steps of high-tech startups. In addition, the HTGF supports companies in their growth and accompanies them until their exit. This makes HTGF an ideal partner not only for financing but also for all strategic corporate issues.

The HTGF invests flexibly tailored to the needs of the company, in the equity model (straight or convertible), up to 1 million € in the seed round. In further financing rounds, a total of up to € 3 million equity capital per startup is possible.
