Its flagship product, the Fazua Evation drive system, is known for its integrated design and seamless integration into the bike. Fazua products are used by leading bike manufacturers worldwide in high-quality e-bikes. In 2022, the company was acquired by Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer Porsche.

As a unique combination of a technology startup, internet company, and traditional transport operation, FlixBus quickly built Europe’s largest long-distance bus network. In 2017, FlixBus became profitable globally for the first time, having already been profitable in the German-speaking region the year before. In 2018, the company expanded its bus connections to the United States, and with FlixTrain, it has recently ventured into rail transport in Germany.
The founding team of FlixBus was awarded for its innovative concept, which took advantage of the liberalization of long-distance bus services in 2012, in the Business Plan Competition Northern Bavaria. This recognition helped the company connect with Heinz Raufer, the Nuremberg-based business angel and founder of Hotel.de, who was impressed by the concept and provided capital for the first round of financing.

Hydrogenious Technologies GmbH was founded as a spin-off from the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg by CEO Dr. Daniel Teichmann and Professors Wasserscheid, Arlt, and Schlücker. The company successfully participated in the Business Plan Competition Northern Bavaria in the same year.
Hydrogenious Technologies develops and markets an innovative technology for the safe and easy storage of hydrogen in liquid hydrogen carriers. These carriers are easy and safe to handle, enabling efficient use of renewable energy in mobility and industrial consumption.
With the entry of FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg as a shareholder, a Series-A funding round, and the launch of the company’s activities in 2014, the company has grown to 65 employees and 1,400 square meters of office space. It now delivers commercially operating systems to the USA and China. The company's stated goal is to revolutionize energy and hydrogen storage.
