Winning Startups from Phase 2 of the Munich Business Plan Competition 2025

5 Startups convince in phase 2 of the Munich Business Plan Competition

Innovation at the highest level: The winners of the second phase of the Munich Business Plan Competition 2025 have been announced! Five startups from the fields of MedTech, DeepTech, and Industrial Tech stood out – with solutions ranging from early cancer diagnostics to powerful quantum processors and desktop metal manufacturing. Their ideas highlight the strong future potential of Munich’s startup ecosystem.

These are the winning teams

1st Place

BioExoTec from the Technical University of Munich has developed a diagnostic test using blood and saliva that enables non-invasive, early-stage cancer detection. The test is 28x faster and 6x more cost-effective than standard diagnostics and is based on RNA analysis of exosomes. It can be used not only in cases of suspected tumors but also for recurrence detection and preventive screening.

2nd Place

Peak Quantum, a spin-off from the Walther-Meißner-Institute (BAdW/TUM), develops the core components of quantum computers: Quantum Processing Units (QPUs). Their processors are based on a uniquely fault-tolerant architecture, making them 10x more reliable and scalable than comparable technologies. Peak Quantum accelerates the industrial adoption of quantum computing, which currently struggles with error-prone processors.

3rd Place

Aumatis, based in Landsberg am Lech, enables desktop manufacturing of complex metal parts. By automating the established investment casting process, they offer a compact, affordable desktop device that requires no prior expertise or special infrastructure. Plastic prototypes are automatically converted into metal components overnight – allowing the creation of intricate geometries with ease.

4th Place

Legalian from Munich automates anti-money laundering checks for businesses and individuals across the entire due diligence cycle – from risk analysis to client interaction. Using a unique technology platform, it analyzes registers and hundreds of global data sources to enable efficient, digital, and legally compliant KYC and KYB processes.

5th Place

Lemonflow.ai from Munich offers an AI-based voice assistant tailored to EV charging station customer support. The technology automates support requests, reduces operator costs by over 50%, and helps EV drivers resolve charging issues instantly – 24/7. With purpose-built AI and data from over 100 use cases, Lemonflow.ai delivers scalable, efficient customer care.
