The northern Bavarian startup scene has picked up speed compared to previous years - as shown by the increased number of entries and the high quality of submissions in this year's Northern Bavaria Business Plan Competition. Participation in the competition offers founders an ideal basis for their future entrepreneurial path, supported by newly established contacts and valuable feedback from the BayStartUP judges.
The winners of the 2024 final were honoured today by Tobias Gotthardt, State Secretary at the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs.
These are the winning teams
GA.GG (Gaming Academy) from Aschaffenburg is a big data and AI-supported learning portal for gamers on a subscription basis.
GA.GG enables gamers to become better with an all-in-one learning portal. Currently in the game League of Legends, later for all relevant e-sports titles. A unique feature is the GA Hexcore A.I., which analyses players' weaknesses and individually suggests the right teaching content and coaches. Customers can thus improve their skills more cheaply, easily and quickly. The concept is highly scalable and transferable to other subject areas.
excav from Erlangen, Germany, has developed the PILOT, a portable GNSS assistance system that can be quickly retrofitted across excavators and provides the excavator operator with real-time information on the correctness of his work.
This means that levelling work can be carried out much more efficiently in terms of time and manpower, as there is no need to re-measure. Thanks to this innovative approach, the PILOT can also be used profitably on small and older excavators.
HydroPURE from Erlangen has developed ready-to-connect water purification systems for the removal of trace substances from water (including viruses, bacteria, hormones, pharmaceutical residues, X-ray contrast agents, PFAS).
Its first target customers are industrial companies that are not allowed to discharge their wastewater into the public sewer system due to excessive contamination with trace substances. Using electricity and a patented diamond electrode, an electrochemical reaction is triggered which leads to the destruction of the pollutants (oxidation).
Stefan Höck, member of the Management Board of LfA Förderbank Bayern, said:
‘This year's founding teams impressed me with their creativity and talent. Their business ideas are cutting-edge and cover many different sectors. This shows how lively the start-up scene is in northern Bavaria. As LfA and with our subsidiary Bayern Kapital, we support founders with suitable development loans and venture capital. As part of the VC4Start-ups Initiative Bayern, we will now significantly expand this commitment once again.’
Many thanks to our long-standing partner LfA Förderbank for its support of the Businessplan Wettbewerb Nordbayern and its commitment to Bavaria's startup scene!
Their participation helps to shape the competition and the associated BayStartUP initiatives and contributes to the promotion of a lively and successful startup ecosystem in Bavaria.
