Web Inclusion wins the Business Plan Competition Northern Bavaria 2022

The winners in the final

With its software for accessibility on the Internet, Eye-Able®, the Würzburg-based IT startup Web Inclusion wins first place in the finals of the Northern Bavaria Business Plan Competition. Second and third place go to oculai from Nuremberg and Microbify from Regensburg.

BayStartUP selected the winning startups together with LfA Förderbank Bayern at an exclusive award event in Nuremberg. The top 3 receive premiums totaling 22,500 euros. Over 100 founders took part in the competition in the 2022 season.

Dr. Carsten Rudolph, Managing Director of BayStartUP

This year's submissions once again reflect the thematic as well as the regional diversity of the Bavarian startup scene. The selection of winning teams shows that even in volatile times, startups with solid, clearly monetizable business models are in demand - all the more so if they have a quantifiable social or ecological benefit.

These are the winning teams

Web Inclusion develops and distributes software solutions for accessibility in the digital space to enable digital participation for more people.

oculai automates the documentation of progress and processes on construction sites using cameras and AI. Site managers thus work in a forward-looking and more efficient manner.

Microbify accompanies natural gas storage operators on their way to a renewable future. The company's special microbiological expertise helps here.

1st place: Web Inclusion GmbH from Würzburg, Germany
Web Inclusion develops and distributes the software Eye-Able®, which is integrated on websites or can also be installed in the browser. The software is aimed at website operators who want to improve the usability and accessibility of their site in order to expand their target audience and make a clear commitment to the topic of web inclusion.

2nd place: oculai GmbH from Nuremberg, Germany
oculai is a solution for camera-based data collection on construction sites. Using computer vision, data on progress, processes and deliveries is extracted from image material and made available to the site management in a WebApp. This way, the current status of the construction site is always in view and time-consuming documentation is automated.

3rd place: Microbify GmbH from Regensburg, Germany
Microbify specializes in high-pressure sampling and working with anaerobic microorganisms. The company examines natural gas storage facilities for their suitability for biological methane production and hydrogen storage and supports customers in microbial-induced corrosion that affects gas quality and infrastructure.

Ruth Nowak, General Representative of LfA, as sponsoring partner of the competition:

The talent and courage of the winners of the North Bavarian competition are impressive. I congratulate the winners very warmly! With your innovative ideas, you are actively shaping the future of the Bavarian economy. Of course, for a project to be successful in the long term, it also needs the right financing. That is why the LfA supports founders - especially in challenging times - with further optimized development loans, risk assumption and venture capital that are specifically tailored to their needs.
